Sitz Terms of Service

Last updated: September 23, 2026

Sitz ("Sitz," "we," "us," or "our") is a class-scheduling platform operated by Method Labs LLC, based in New Jersey. These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Sitz website, dashboard, and booking pages (together, the "Service").

By creating a Sitz account, connecting a Stripe account, or booking a class through a Sitz-powered booking page, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. Who this applies to

Two kinds of people use Sitz:

  • Hosts — United States-based instructors and studios who sign up for a Sitz subscription to schedule and manage classes.
  • Clients — the students/attendees who book a Host's classes through a public booking page (e.g., sitz.app/b/[studio-name]). Clients don't create a Sitz account; they just provide their name, email, and optionally a phone number when booking.

2. Host accounts and subscriptions

  • You must be at least 18 years old to create a Host account.
  • Plans are billed monthly at the rate shown at signup (Starter/Growth/Studio). New Hosts get a 14-day free trial with no payment card required at signup. By adding a payment method and starting a paid subscription — either during the trial or after it ends — you authorize Sitz to charge the then-current monthly price for your selected plan, plus applicable taxes, each month until you cancel. Your subscription renews automatically each month unless canceled.
  • You can upgrade, downgrade, or cancel your subscription at any time through Dashboard → Settings → Plan & billing. Stripe will show the applicable price and when the change takes effect before you confirm it. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period; we don't provide partial-period refunds.
  • If a payment fails, or your free trial ends without a payment card on file, your dashboard access may be locked until it's resolved. Your existing public booking page keeps working for your Clients even if your account is locked — a billing issue on your end shouldn't cut off people who already booked with you.
  • You're responsible for the accuracy of the class information, pricing, and policies (like cancellation windows) you publish through the Service.

3. Payments

Two separate payment flows run through Sitz, and it's important to understand which is which:

  • Your subscription to Sitz is billed by us, Sitz, directly, via Stripe.
  • Payments your Clients make for classes or class packs are processed through your own connected Stripe account (Stripe Connect). You are the merchant of record for those charges — Sitz is not a party to that transaction and does not add a transaction fee or take a cut of those funds. Stripe's standard processing fees still apply. Sitz is not responsible for refunds, chargebacks, or disputes related to Client payments. Those are between you and your Client, subject to Stripe's terms and your own refund policy.

4. Client bookings

  • When a Client books a class, we collect their name, email, and (optionally) phone number to confirm the booking, send reminders, and let you (the Host) manage your roster.
  • Clients don't have Sitz accounts or passwords. There is currently no self-service way for a Client to cancel or modify their own booking — that has to go through you, the Host, directly.
  • You (the Host), not Sitz, are responsible for the classes you offer: their safety, quality, staffing, venue, and compliance with any licensing or insurance requirements that apply to your business. Sitz is a scheduling and booking tool — we are not a party to, and assume no liability for, what happens at your classes.

5. Acceptable use

Don't use the Service to:

  • Impersonate another business or person, or list classes you don't actually run.
  • Spam, harass, or send unsolicited communications to Clients or other Hosts.
  • Attempt to bypass rate limits, scrape the Service, or interfere with its normal operation.
  • Use the Service for anything illegal, or in a way that violates Stripe's or Supabase's own terms of service (since we rely on both to operate).

We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section.

6. Service availability

We aim to keep the Service running reliably but don't guarantee uninterrupted uptime. We're not liable for losses caused by downtime, bugs, or third-party service outages (Stripe, Supabase, Resend, or our hosting provider).

7. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Sitz is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including damages related to classes booked through the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in subscription fees in the 3 months before the claim arose.

8. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms as the Service evolves. We'll post the updated version here with a new "Last updated" date. Continuing to use the Service after changes take effect means you accept the update.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of New Jersey, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
